根據《 Page Six 》報導，洛杉磯高等法院於當地時間 11 月 2 日舉行聽證會，薇薇安的律師則透過視訊出席。由於過程中沒有人提出反對，法官最終簽署改名命令，讓薇薇安正式成為家中第 4 位透過法律程序移除父姓的子女。

薇薇安捨棄父姓的跡象其實早已出現。2024 年 5 月，她協助母親製作百老匯音樂劇時，節目手冊便已使用「 Vivienne Jolie 」的名字。今年 7 月，她與雙胞胎哥哥諾克斯（ Knox ）滿18歲，隨後在也向法院提出正式申請，不過僅以「個人原因」說明改名動機，並未透露更多細節。事實上，家中其他兄弟姊妹也陸續做出相同決定，20 歲的席隆（ Shiloh ）在 2024 年成年當天提出申請；21 歲的札哈拉（Zahara）與 25 歲的麥鐸（Maddox）則在今年 9 月完成法律更名。
