Golden State is permitted to move his contract at any point before the Feb. 11 deadline even without paying him currently, and will continue exhausting trade avenues as the 31-year-old leans toward ending his NBA career. Absorbing Porzingis’ near-expiring deal would allow a rival team to move a salary out and save money and clear a roster spot via a buyout.

勇士尋求交易方案 缺賽將面臨鉅額損失
據悉，金州勇士有權在不支付任何薪資的情況下，於季中交易截止日前將他送走，目前球團正積極嘗試各種交易方案。薪資專家Bobby Marks指出，若金州勇士最終確定停薪，Kristaps Porzingis每缺席一場比賽將損失約218341美元。不過，即使球團扣留這筆款項，他2000萬美元的年薪依然會被計入球隊團隊薪資上限之中。

買斷負擔低成優勢 雙方分道揚鑣倒數計時
市場分析指出，若Kristaps Porzingis最終被交易，接收他的球隊可藉此機會清出陣中合約更大的球員，並隨後裁掉Kristaps Porzingis以騰出陣容名額。由於Kristaps Porzingis在2027-28賽季的合約僅有300萬美元受保障，買斷這份合約對新東家而言幾乎沒有壓力。知名記者Jake Fischer也證實，金州勇士與Kristaps Porzingis分道揚鑣只是時間早晚的問題。
除了交易選項外，Kristaps Porzingis也可能會直接終止合約並結束職業生涯。Jake Fischer提到，過去費城76人也曾對Ben Simmons祭出隊內停薪處分，但兩者情況截然不同。Ben Simmons當時是為了逼宮申請交易而惡意拒絕履行合約義務，而Kristaps Porzingis則是因為身體健康因素無法出賽，並正認真考慮退休選項。
